Here is a study that shows the potential value of vitamin D against fibromyalgia. In this placebo-controlled study involving 30 women
with fibromyalgia, oral supplementation with cholecalciferol (vitamin D3) for 20 weeks was
administered with a goal of achieving serum calcifediol between 32 and 48
ng/mL.
Results found a marked reduction in pain over the treatment period in
the group treated with vitamin D, and a significant group effect was found
according to visual analog scale scores, which was correlated with scores on
the physical role functioning scale of the SF-health survey 36.
Furthermore,
"Optimization of calcifediol levels in fibromyalgia had a positive effect on the
perception of pain."
